Showing resilient solidarity with Palau's biggest ally, the United States of America, President Remengesau and the government and traditional leadership of Palau hosted a memorial service yesterday evening to remember and honor the victims and survivors of the 9/11 tragic attacks on the United States of America.

Held on the grounds of Palau Community College, as it has been for the past years, the poignant ceremony marked the 7th year since the infamous terrorist attacks which took the lives of thousands and prompting the US-led war against global terrorism.

President Remengesau who addressed the gathering said the 9/11 incident was indeed a life-changing event not only for the United States but also for the rest of the world. He said that the impact was

The memorial service which began at around sundown was also attended by a number of church choirs from local congregations who sang hymns and offered prayers.

The PCC family of staff and students also graced the event with President Patrick U. Tellei and Vice Presidents Thomas Taro and Jay Olegeriil. A student group sang a beautiful rendition of the Palau national anthem to open the evening's service, while another group closed the evenig's program with hymns.

PCC's campus, centrally located in downtown Koror has been the host venue for the memorial service each year.
